Start up and develop your organisation's Service Management System
A Service Management System is the primary means of ensuring a consistent and appropriate level of quality for all Services. For more information on Service Management Systems see: "Some Key Concepts in brief: Service Management System".
Project Management Approach for Service Management Projects
Before embarking on a significant upgrade to your Service Management System (SMS), or before introducing new processes, it pays handsomely to standardise your Project Management approach for all Service Management projects.
Essentially this involves identifying and establishing a suitable framework for managing all projects (there are essentially two project types), including project standards, governance and project management reporting and all within your organisation’s established Project Management practices.
Establishing the Project Management Framework
As part of an assignment to establish this framework we can also supply several Project Planning templates and facilities that address key issues such as:
- A generic project structure for all Business Service projects, compliant with the chosen Project Management Framework.
- A generic project structure for all SMS projects (based on the ITIL processes), compliant with the chosen Project Management Framework, if required.
- Specific component planning templates for ITIL Processes (process and information level), as required.
- Integrating with Microsoft Project for subsequently managing the project.
